Erik C. Peterson, Esquire
Erik Peterson is not just
another
attorney...
Mr.
Peterson, upon graduating
from North Carolina StateUniversity
with a Bachelors degree in Business Management, returned home to New
Jersey
seeking
employment that not only would provide him with a paycheck but also
provide him
with the hands on knowledge and experience necessary to operate a
successful
business. Mr. Peterson was offered such an opportunity by Beneficial Management Corporation, an international financial services company headquartered in Peapack, New Jersey. |

Mr. Peterson was recruited to join
Beneficial’s Accelerated Management Program (AMP). The AMP
recruited a handful or less college
graduates in each of the company’s regions each year. The program
was designed to groom candidates
for executive positions in the company by having them learn the
business from
the ground up. Thus, Mr. Peterson
learned how to perform every aspect of the lending process from
solicitation
through collections and then was given intense training in all aspects
of
managing a business. Mr. Peterson worked
his way up the corporate ladder and was running the New Jersey
operations of Beneficial’s
mortgage banking subsidiary Personal Mortgage Corporation before he
decided to
attend law school. Looking
for a challenge Mr. Peterson decided that law school would offer that
challenge
and allow him to take what he learned at Beneficial to a higher
level.
Mr. Peterson attended Temple University
School of Law graduating in 1996 and then passed both the New Jersey
and
Pennsylvania Bar Examinations
that same year. While attending Temple Law School,
Mr. Peterson
concentrated his studies to the areas of law that most interested him
Real
Estate Law, Trust and Estate Law and Business Law with the intent of
providing
legal services in these areas of law to individuals and businesses upon
graduation. While in school and upon
graduation Mr. Peterson worked for several law firms before deciding to
form
his own law firm.
Under Mr. Peterson’s direction, his
law firm has developed a reputation of representing their clients with
integrity, diligence and sound advice. Having
a trained businessman at the helm, the firm understands that its role
in a
transaction, whether it is the purchase of commercial real estate or a
simple
Will, is not to find reasons why a client should not do something but
rather
how to assist their clients in reaching their goals and
objectives.
To reach a client’s goals and objectives Mr.
Peterson and his associates work directly with each client and spend
the time
necessary to learn the client’s circumstances, their goals and
objectives. Unlike most law firms where
you only hear
from the paralegal the attorneys of the firm work directly with the
client to
ensure that the client understands the plan of action and provide ample
time to
answer any questions. As a result of the
firms reputation, its can do philosophy
and accessibility, the firm has grown over the years mostly through
referrals.
In addition to running the law firm,
Mr. Peterson is active in the community.
Currently, Mr. Peterson was elected in 2005 to a three year term on the
Hunterdon County Board of Chosen Freeholders, he is also a member of
the New
Jersey Highlands Water Protection and Planning Council. Mr.
Peterson also sits on the boards of local
non-profits and is a member of his church’s finance committee and the
New Jersey
and Hunterdon
County Bar Associations. |
